Mount Kenya
Kenya is a country well known for its big game and one of the best times to go on a safari is at the time of the Great migration from Masai Mara in Kenya to Serengeti in Tanzania. This takes place between June and September and is a sight to behold as some two million animals migrate.

You will almost certainly fly in or out of Nairobi so it is worth spending possibly two days there, before or after your safari. In September the city is especially lovely with the purple jacarandas, red flame trees and coloured bougainvillea  bloom in profusion.

Game viewing is at its best after the rains round about July when the days are long and pleasant. Ideal country for a safari. The options are many:   A 4 wheel drive vehicle with a group or privately is the most likely way to go, some company’s use mini buses with pop up roofs giving good viewing angles. Perhaps do a walking safari or one on horseback. At  Samburu a camel safari can be arranged or one can take a balloon ride  above the Masai Mara whichever way you choose to do your safari one thing is for  sure in Kenya you will see game and plenty of it.
